Who we are
Texas Home Backup Power is an independent guide for Texans who want to keep the lights, fridge, medical devices and internet running through storms, freezes and grid emergencies. We explain what each kind of backup power can really do, what it costs and how to use it safely.
texashomebackuppower.com is owned by Wolfgang Maasberg and operated by Spicewood Secure Storage LLC, a small Texas business based in Spicewood, Texas. Questions, corrections or partnership requests: hello@texashomebackuppower.com.
How we research
We build our guides from primary sources wherever we can: manufacturer specifications, utility and government pages, published rate sheets and official program rules. We say when something is an estimate, and we date our pages. Prices, rates and programs change, so always confirm the current details with the company or agency before you buy, book or sign.
Affiliate disclosure: how we make money
This site is free to read. We pay for it through affiliate and referral partnerships. When you click certain links and then buy a product, book an experience or request a quote, the company may pay us a commission or referral fee. You do not pay more because you used our link.
In line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides, we mark pages that contain affiliate links and label partner buttons. A commission never decides what we recommend, and we include free and non-partner options when they are the better choice.
Partner programs we use or have applied to include:
- Amazon Associates
- EcoFlow
- Jackery
- Anker SOLIX
- BLUETTI
Texas Home Backup Power is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
What we are not
We are not an electrician, installer, retailer or utility. We do not sell or install equipment. Generator and battery installations that connect to your home wiring must follow local code and should be done by a licensed Texas electrician.
